    Gary Kevin Coats is an experienced real estate broker from Raleigh, North Carolina. He is the constructions operation director at Coats Custom Homes. Formally going by his middle name Kevin, he is fueled by his passion for understanding the nuances of both the commercial and residential real estate market. 

     

    Eager to build his academic credentials after high school, Kevin earned a B.A. in communications from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. 

     

    Kevin started his real estate career in 2001 when he joined York Simpson Underwood, a well-known brokerage firm in Raleigh, NC. As a broker associate, he was awarded “Rookie of the Year” for achieving the highest sales volume during his first year in business. Utilizing the knowledge he gained at YSU, he started his own business in 2003, Featured Properties.

     

    Based in Raleigh, Featured Properties was a boutique real estate brokerage firm offering a full line of residential and commercial real estate services and support. Kevin was the broker/owner and employed a small staff of junior brokers. He assisted in the sell-out of a large commercial development, Caraleigh Mills, which was the conversion of an old textile (cotton) mill into luxury condominiums.  Featured Properties was mainly focused on residential brokerage for the remainder of its existence.  In 2014, Kevin joined the family company, Coats Custom Homes, to run the division of new construction and extensive remodeling.  Much of the work during this time was speculative in nature. Coats Custom Homes purchased existing homes, then performed a full renovation, and resell the home once complete.
